Nicholas Aaron Aitken Artist-In-Residence Program

Established in 2010 by Tamara, Bart, and Ian Aitken, FS '08, to honor the life of Nicholas Aaron Aitken, FS '04, Forsyth's Artist-In-Residence Program provides an annual opportunity for Grade 5 students to learn from and collaborate with a local professional artist. Together, they create an art exhibition for the Forsyth community to experience and enjoy. Each residency exposes students to new art media, processes, and perspectives. The program's mission is to cultivate artistic expression and a love of art.

An Investment in the Future

The Nicholas Aaron Aitken Artist-in-Residence Program is sustained by a permanent endowment. A gift to this fund is an investment in our students' creative growth, ensuring that collaborative, professional mentorship remains a cornerstone of the Forsyth experience for generations to come.

A Legacy of Creativity

For more than 15 years, the Artist-in-Residence Program has connected Forsyth students with professional artists working across various genres and media. The unique art experiences provided by the program engage students in the creative process, ignite their imaginations, and open doors to a lifetime of artistic discovery.

Since its inception, more than 500 Forsyth students have participated in the program. We look forward to the day that a Forsyth alum who participated in the program returns to serve as the Artist-In-Residence.
